Saw the new Shah Rukh Khan movie "Chak De". liked it. Really well made. More than anything else, it reminded me to my IIT days. I could feel for the SRK goal miss and how he felt that he let the team down.
My third year - Inter Hostel Hockey Semifinal match tie breaker. After nine shots (4 of us and 5 of their) we were even and I was taking the last one for us. H2 goalkeeper was our institute team's first choice. I was not worried as during our Institute team training, I had a scoring rate of above 90% against him. So, I knew I could get the ball past him. I took the shot and ball hit the top left corner net
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Everyone in the hostel cheering squad was on seventh heaven and came running towards me.....But, I knew..... While taking the shot, my back foot had lifted off the ground. For a fraction of a second, I thought that the coach has missed the foul. While I was contemplating if I should tell the referee (who was also our institute team coach) or go with the flow, the coach (who had noticed that) blew the whistle that it doesn't count.
Finally we lost that game in the sudden death and had to be satisfied with a bronze medal.

Bourne Ultimatum
Saw the movie "Bourne Ultimatum" this weekend. It had all the ingredients of the a Bourne series. Fast paced plot with lots of chases....car chase, bike chase and chase on foot on the rooftop. Lots of one on one, two on one, three on one and four on one hand to hand fights.
Lots of wow moments. Now some things that I have different views/questions. It is difficult with out giving the plot away.
Desh blasts his scooter and is on foot when the bomb goes off. How did he get the scooter when he is chasing Nicky. Scooter is how Bourne find out that Desh is in the neighborhood.
How did Bourne get the card to enter the CIA building? He is seen using that card.
Why did Bourne tell them that he was in the CIA building; couldn't that have waited till he got out of the CIA building? Well I guess the director wanted a car chase sequence.
I would have preferred that the director would not have shown all the Bourne's shots in the water at the end. Just show him fall off the building and end. Keeps the suspense - is he dead or alive.
I am sure there are many others in my mind, but over all a good movie.

Dodge Ball on the lake
I played dodge ball today. While cycling down the lake shore drive, I saw some dodge ball competition going on. One of the teams had less players so I volunteered. Even though, I saw the movie dodge ball, I didn't know the rules and last 10 secs and 40 secs in the two matches. Both the times, I didn't even realize why I was out.
In fact, I found out later that you can get a player from the other team out by catching his throw. I might have been better in that.
Anyway, I will not be playing dodge ball anytime soon as I found out that it requires a lot of sideways motion and knee twisting and my knee is not up to it.
